AI Research and Innovations by Middle and High Schoolers

The world is experiencing an explosion of AI innovation, rivaling or exceeding any technological development seen in our lifetimes. The next generation will learn to work and thrive in a world filled with AI. Now in its 4th year, AISRS - the Student Research Symposium -  showcases innovative AI research projects done by students grades 6-12. These projects touch a variety of areas and fields; space, healthcare, social good, climate change, the fine arts and much more. For students, parents, teachers and all interested, AISRS shows how students can combine their ingenuity and state of the art technology to create the future.

Robert Ober 

Chief Platform Architect, Datacenter Products, NVIDIA

Rob is NVIDIA’s Chief Platform Architect for data center products. He works with global Hyperscales to architect AI clusters and datacenters, systems and platform architecture, and influence NVIDIA silicon, systems and software roadmaps. His background is in processor and system architecture, with experience in storage, networking, and wireless. Rob has over 40 international patents in processor architecture, storage, networks, wireless, and mobile devices.

Surbhi Kaul
VP, Customer Success, Juniper Networks

With 20 years of experience leading product design, development and strategy in Fortune 500 companies, Surbhi has built and led product and engineering teams at technology icons including Google, YouTube, Netflix, and Cisco. Over the last decade she has launched multiple successful & insightful products, many of which encompass AI and machine learning expertise. Additionally, Surbhi led query disambiguation and speech recognition efforts on leading edge Google Home and Google Assistant enabled devices using Google Cloud ML models.

If you're in middle school or high school, and have a passion project that utilizes artificial intelligence to solve a problem, we'd love to hear from you!

The AIClub Student Research Symposium is a great way to hone your presentation skills, have access to a special Keynote and ask questions, and get inspired by fellow students that are building exciting things with AI.

All submissions will be reviewed by the AISRS Program Committee and be given feedback. Accepted students will be given pitch feedback.

The 2024 AI Student Research Symposium will be held online on June 22, 2024. In its 4th year, AISRS is a premier venue for high school and advanced middle school students to present state of the art research in artificial intelligence and applications in various fields, including but not limited to the following:

  • AI in Space Exploration and Astronomy

  • Large Language Models and Applications
